What a cool thing that was, here's their webiste http://www.bodyartexpo.com/MAIN.PHP
It's great exposure to see different artists from all around the country. If you're looking for ideas for your next piece or if you want to compare styles or just if you're looking for local Tattoo artist talent. It's a great collection of art, people and culture.......so to speak. :-) Every style of tattoo/artist could be found there. Whether you like Aztec, Grafitti, cartoon, pin-up girl, jail-house, tribal, portrait, asian-influenced, gothic, animals, cars, monutments......etc...etc...ect. It really felt more like an art show than anything else. I've been to shops before but I've never seen so many actual photos of tattoos actually ON PEOPLE before, versus just looking thru books and books of flash.
We actually only made it thru about 3 hours, but the show was on for 9 hours that day. After 3 hours we had seen like 95% of the booths. We grabbed some over-priced "Carni-Food" and headed out. Trust me, after 3 hours of crane-ing your head down to look at hundreds, possibly thousands, of pieces of art like that.... with that kind of fine detail..... not only will your eyes get tired, but your neck will be absolutely sore as hell.
So we headed out and were just in absolute awe of the great stuff they had there. Cool people with killer tats, freaky people with killer tats, and everything in between. But mostly........ just really nice art and amazingly talented and friendly artists. Good times!

Marilyn Manson and Slayer concert
Howdy All :-)
It's been several months and April and I have been doing great. We went and saw the Marilyn Manson show at the Concord Pavilion(SP?). MM had two openers, one was a Southern California band called Bleeding Through. I've never heard or seen these guys before but they.............were..........awesome. The leads singer had an awesome voice and April and I were wishing that we had got there on time because we only got to hear like 3 songs. These guys ROQ'D!!!!!
Here's their myspace page www.myspace.com/bleedingthrough
and here's their record label's page http://www.trustkill.com/artist/Bleeding+Through
You can also get their music thru iTunes. I picked up their latest album but I haven't had a chnce to listen yet.......... but I know that I will love these guys.
So Bleeding Through opened up and they were followed by Slayer. I've never been a big fan of these guy and in fact, truth be told, I can't say as I'd know them if I heard them on the radio. To both my and April's surprise........ these guys were awesome. The drummer has like 6 or 7 hands, he was just amazing. This is good 'ol classic 90's head-bangers Ball kind of stuff. NICE! I will never be a total Slayer fan, but they were cool and they put on a good show, nothing spectacular..... just good frigg'N music and well-played.
Then came Marilyn and he was killlllerrrr! Great songs, some new and some older songs, and a great stage show. I wasn't a huge fan of MM but I dig some of his stuff. He was really, really, great and I am definitely a full-on fan now!
So that's it for the show........ if you get a chance to see any of these groups.......... you should totally go!
take care :-)
